Crumb brought together an inspirational group of Humans to discuss ageism in the modelling and creative industries. Alongside the contribution of the incredible Caryn Franklin, we discussed opportunities for over 40s models to challenge stigmas, stereotypes and biases in modelling campaigns and the importance of mobilising to grow this conversation and 'challenge popular culture ageism'.
Through this insightful conversation we were left with the message that modelling later in life can be empowering, creative and enjoyable; whilst having a huge impact on positive body image and self esteem, with inclusive representation benefitting all. With technology being so relied upon in the casting and marketing process, with minimal IRL castings and mostly self tapes, we are looking ahead to offer skill-sharing opportunities for Mature Humans to build confidence with self-marketing and personal brand development. We hope this will expand the reach of these important conversations, create inspirational role-models for the future generation whilst building agency in the day-to-day casting process.
Not only are our Mature Humans available for modelling opportunities but their experience and communicative skills lend excellently to panel talks, workshops and partnerships.
With London Fashion Week approaching and a new season of campaigns ahead, we'd love to continue this conversation so get in touch...
Love,
Crumb x
