SAKEEMA took to the GANNI runway for their SS23 collection titled 'Joyride' on a sunny Copenhagen evening, their first physical show after showing digitally last season. This collection was an ode to the Danish capital, beginning with two models whizzing down the runway on bikes. In keeping with GANNI’s ethos to become the most responsible version of themselves, 97 percent of the forthcoming collection is comprised of responsible styles. Meaning at least 50 percent of the composition is certified organic, lower-impact or recycled.
Held on the harbour front at Ofelia Plads in Copenhagen, close to the Royal Danish Playhouse, the collection was an ode to creative director Ditte Reffstrup’s home city. “We talked a lot about how Copenhagen is during the summertime; how special it feels and that certain energy that’s difficult to describe,” the designer tells Vogue ahead of the show. “I hope the show reflects Copenhagen at its best – everyone is on bikes and it’s joyful in the city.”
