'As a photographer, I am always the observer, not the observed. It feels poignant to have my portrait printed in these pages – to come full circle and allow myself to be fully exposed on both a physical and emotional level. I’d avoided mirrors for so long that when I do look today it’s like seeing a new person. Every morning when I wake I feel at ease. It is as if I can finally breathe.'
