A lot of the Pride collaborations happening this year have been difficult as an agent to navigate. Of course, there is a HUGE need to celebrate and support PRIDE, most poignantly as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Nonetheless,
there has been an overall feeling with many that the commercialisation of it has led to a disregard of the values and the ongoing fight for the respect that the LGBTQ+ community continue to face.
We were delighted to work with Halpern Agency who's clients at UGG very much wanted to make sure that their message of support with Pride was the correct one. UGG have created a series of Pride inspired Fluff sliders with 25% of their sale going to the BORN THIS WAY not-for-profit Foundation. With the help of our incredible
JAMIE WINDUST, we began a series of conversations as to how best tackle the promotional activity around this launch.
Friends and guests from within the LGBTQ+ community were invited to a beautiful dinner at Somerset House for a frank around the table discussion not only about the product, but also about Pride as a whole. A charitable donation for hosting the event was also made to GLAAD. There were laughs, there were tears, there was an energy and a feeling of support in the room that night which we will never forget.
"As queer people, the consensus was that this was an event that was needed right now. There was no suspect agenda or marketing ploys. It was a true opportunity to just chat, feel connected and really resonate as a community"
We'd like to thank the team at UGG and Halpern Agency, and also to all of the wonderful guests who attended.
